Generator Zen has released its second single 'Monotonie des Yeah Yeah Yeah'. The song has been taken from the forthcoming album '1949 – 1990'. Recorded at Chateau Morphett Vale in Adelaide, '1949 – 1990' will musically process the rise and fall of the German Democratic Republic, perhaps better known as East Germany. Generator Zen's 8th album will be released on 7 October 2021, which would have been the 72nd anniversary of the establishment of East Germany.

In 1965, Walter Ulbricht, the Head of East Germany, announced the ban of western beat music by saying “Ist es denn wirklich so, dass wir jeden Dreck, der vom Westen kommt, nu kopieren müssen? Ich denke, Genossen, mit der Monotonie des Je-Je-Je, und wie das alles heißt, ja, sollte man doch Schluss machen.” 'This ban also included bands and musicians from East Germany that played and performed this music. 'Je-Je-Je' referred to the Beatles movie 'Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!'
